Grantsville vs. Tooele

Even with a short week, a cold, rainy day, and a power outage in the third quarter the Cowboys found a way to beat a county rival the Tooele Buffalos. The score was 35 to 28.

If you like a lot of offense this was the game to watch. Neither team was able to stop the other for the first three quarters of the game. A 21 to 21 tie at the half and a quick score by Tooele in the second half left people wondering if Grantsville could keep up with the big 4A school. We did just that! We answered with a score of our own to tie the game at 28 going in to the 4th quarter. Great defensive adjustments by our coaching staff and great determination by the players made it possible to hold Tooele scoreless for the remaining 17 minutes of the game. This allowed us to score twice; once for the tie and once for the winning touchdown. Grantsville prevails in a good old fashion shootout.

We return back to region play this week with Judge. We need some region wins to qualify for the playoffs.

Thanks for your support,
Coach Tony Cloward

"Wednesday Night" FAN FEST
in all kinds of weather!

Grantsville Cowboys proved last Wednesday that they are NOT fair-weathered fans! Some may have thought the rain, gray sky's and bitter cold weather would have been cause for the bleachers to be empty. But alas, when the team stepped out on the field, the roar of the crowd proved that COWBOY FOOTBALL is alive and well in this small town!

Fan Fest set up canopies, DJ's hit the music and we were off! Mr. Peterson and the shop class welded fabulous new games for everyone to play. While Bro. Hutchins fed about 200 GHS Students at the Seminary. Flag were flying and the team tunnel was forming. The tailgating spots were even filling the air with smells of freshly grilled hot dogs. It seemed that everyone came together to make one point... nothing can keep down COWBOY SPIRIT!

No, in this small town we are NOT fair-weathered fans... we are COWBOY FANS! You won't find any better and more faithful than here in our own HOMETOWN!

October 16th is Homecoming. You can bet Fan Fest will be one to remember! But first let's tackle Judge this Friday. Go Cowboys!! See you at the game.
